weekly bean update

and according to The Bump this week...

so not much change as far as the belly is concerned. it's starting to feel a little harder these days, and my jeans are feeling a bit snugger, but definitely not looking preggo just yet. after weeks of nausea my appetite has come back... with a vengeance! breakfast and dinner don't really thrill me at all, but lunch, now that's where i really hit my stride!

favorite things this week...

grapefruit
my new body pillow
blueberry bagels
my beband (for the days of serious bloat!)
franks hot sauce

not favorite things this week...

becoming suddenly clumsier then i usually am (and i'm never one for gracefulness)
lower back pain
being turned off by broccoli (this actually started as soon as i became pregnant, bummer!)

i can't believe i'm already 3 months in! 1/3 of the way there... ahhhh! i'm juggling 5 different pregnancy books and reading a ton of blogs and so far the best advice i've gotten is from a friend of ours. she's the momma of a lovely little lady and she said "it's much less about learning, and much more about listening to your gut!" i've always been a good gut listener so i'm feeling pretty good about that advice!

i am definitely staying vegan throughout and we'll be raising our little nugget vegan too :) i haven't had meat in about 14 years or so, so i'm not even sure that i could crave it. when i see ads for anything meaty it actually makes me gag, but then again, like i said, so does broccoli! i'm reading lots of books about being vegan and pregnant so i'll be sure to share some of that info here too!

Congratulations! And that's great your beb will be meat-free. My kid is leaning that way by choice, and I would love to do a full vegetarian conversion with her. Everyone (i.e. old school parents/in-laws) is pressuring me to get her to eat MORE meat and I'm finding it hard to convince them that she'll survive and thrive without animals in her body. hmpf.

ohhh stay strong brooke! if it's what she's already leaning towards then it seems like a natural choice for her. just do what you think is right, and maybe get a book about raising veggie kids to help figure out meal options. once everyone sees that she's still healthy, happy, and thriving, they'll probably lay off. some people just assume that we must get our nutrition from animals, but that simply isn't true. kudos to you for being open to the vegetarian option. not everyone would be!
